Happy 3 Month Birthday Gwyneth!

I can't believe that the day is almost over and I just realized it's the 8th! That gives you a clue as to how my world spins lately.

Three months ago was an incredible day - not a day I would ever want to repeat. Our emotions went from Death Valley low to cautiously Mt. Everest high. At one point we thought we might be losing both of our girls and how could God allow that to happen? But by the end of the day we were coming around to the joy of hope that both could not only survive, but that we were witnessing a genuine God thing.

Now three months later Gwyneth is growing and getting closer to an exit from the NICU and eventually coming home. And her mother has been given the incredible gift of new lungs and new life.

Both still have a long way to go, but not anywhere near where they were on January 8th.

So, Gwyneth, this birthday is for us the happiest yet. And I have an idea that there are some even happier to come!
How blessed we are to have been able to get to know you 3 and a half months before you were supposed to arrive! It's better than opening presents on Christmas Eve.

January 8th. Yes, I remember it well. The "miracles" that have happened over these 3 months! How could anyone doubt the POWER of our Almighty LIVING God?

And, I love that He continues to remind us, (especially through Nate, Tricia, and Gwyneth) that He is still in the "miracle" business ..... and in a BIG, BIG way!

What a sweet post - and you are so right - they have come such a long way! I fully believe the best is yet to come.

Thank you so much for answering my email and for updating us while Nate takes a break. I hope these days where he can focus only on his 2 girls have helped rejuvenate him. I have never seen such blog activity in my life. Just a testimony to how many people have come to know and love your family!!

Still praying in WV,
Susan

Rick, I didn't realize today was the 8th either. I mean, I DID... I commented to my friend Sarah that my nephew is 3 years and three months old today. I know that Francis and Gwyneth share a birthday, but didn't "make the connection."

You have such a beautiful family.

Very thoughtful. Thanks for sharing! I can't believe its ONLY been 3 months that I've 'known' your family - it feels like a lifetime and I owe that to all of the links in Nate's sidebar for being so candid and honest in their own posts (including Nate's). This has been an amazing journey and I'm not sure I'll ever want to get off the train! Again, thank you for sharing.

It's ALL a God thing. Especially your family's story.

Amazing. She's so beautiful. Both "girls " are. I'm so blessed and in awe to even get a little glimpse of their lives. Thank you, so much.

I love the post, and that picture is too awesome for words! My parents became grandparents twice within 6 days, and though my sister is 5 hours away, my immediate family is blessed to be close to my folks.

One of my all time favorite things is watching my 9 month old son interact with his grandparents and seeing everyone's face light up.

I share this because the picture on this post evokes the same, strong, happy-tear-filled reaction for you and Gwyneth that I see in my own family.

As you well know, the bond between parents and children is incredible, but I think you are also finding out rapidly that the bond between grandparents and grandchildren is indescribable!

Gwyneth is a VERY blessed young lady to have a family that loves her so much!

It truly is shown in the pictures you all post, how much you love that baby girl. And even though she can't talk yet, I have 100% confidence that she loves you right back!

Blessings to you and yours,
Meredith

I can't imagine the journey y'all have been on, even though I have been reading the facts of what went on, That's a far cry from what y'all have been there for. (Does that make sense?? Not vry good at putting thought down) Anyhoo, will keep praying for great things for all of you!!
