Before I crash and burn

It's 4:30PM and I've yet to get some real sleep. So Gail and I have checked in to a motel. But I'm going to take a little nap then try to get back to the hospital at 8PM to see Tricia.

She's awake and after talking with Nate knows where she is and what happened. That's good! He's running out to a WalMart to pick up a fan for her room. Lung transplant patients get real hot for some reason. Don't ask me now. I can't think.

I met with someone at the hospital who has given us the right person to speak with about their communications malfunction. I'll do that tomorrow.

And Gwyneth's doing great!

Nate got a bit of a nap earlier today and will get a good night's sleep tonight.

Now I'm shutting down for about tres horas. (Gail's already asleep.)

Hasta la vista.

It's probably the IV steroids that are making her too warm. I remember my parents bringing a fan to my room after my double lung tx. I was hot all the time then. After I recovered, I was (and am still) cold all the time. Weird.
So glad to hear that Tricia is doing well!!!!! Sending you warm and fuzzy thoughts from the great state of Louisiana!

Rick In case you are still awake! I posted this to Nate's site just a minute ago!!!!!!

Channel 11 ABC here in the Raleigh area just did a quick update on Tricia's transplant!!!It aired about 5:15 Eastern time. Yeah! And they are promising a longer report soon! God is so amazing. I watched the initial story that this station did last week and I have been thrilled with the coverage.

Rejoicing with you through this latest part of the journey.

Thanks for the update. You would think they would have fans on hand if it is something a transplant patient is going to need.....

Good luck clearing up the communication snafu. Too late for your family but it will help future families during the difficult wait.

Thank you so much for the updates. All over the world, people are praying for your loved ones. I plan to try to stop to meet you maybe at your church this summer. We rent a place in Nag's Head every summer by Jockey's Ridge. Don't worry! I will call first!!! We always attend the Catholic church near your church.

I am also praying for tricia's donor.

thanks Rick for the updates. I can't imagine what your families have been through...both physically or emotionally.

Know that there are many of us still praying and praising Jesus for this second chance of life for Tricia.

Thank you for the updates. We usually read over at Nate's blog but he sent us over here for more details... WOW. What a day!

As a person who has gone through serious terminal illness of our first daughter, can I just say thank YOU for going to bat for Nate and Tricia with the hospital?! My parents did the same for us a couple of times and it was a huge blessing because we were able to focus on Rebecca and not on the politics that is healthcare at times. Kudos to you and we'll be praying for wise words that meet the need of the moment!

Give Tricia and the rest our love. We're praying for you!
