Eyes Wide Open

It's Friday morning and I'm at Duke Hospital. Just spent 30 minutes or so in the room with Tricia and Nathan. I can't tell you the combination of relief and joy it is to not only see her awake and smiling, but talking. Her words aren't audible due to the tracheotomy, but Nate does a great job of reading her lips.

We went through some of the experiences she's had in the past week; talked about the baby a lot. She can't wait to see her live and in person. But she wants to wait until her blurry vision clears up first.

We also talked about the thousands around the world who now "know" her. She just asked that everyone be praying.

She's got a long way to go, but she's come so very far. After lunch I'll go visit Gwyneth. I know she's been wondering where I've been the past few days.

I may do another dance.

Well pop-pop just wait. Soon enough that will all she will say...She will love climbing on your lap and listening to you say crazy baby talk to her:)
I am so happy the Lord has blessed you family so much.
Janet P. is a dear friend I am blessed to be a part of her friend encouragement team. She even has been led to give me kind, and encouraging words in her time of stress.
My family and I will continue to pray!! It is the only way to live!!I look forward to hear what's up, and your blogs are touching. I can see where your son gets his love for his family.
Well pop-pop have a wonderful weekend!!!

Just when I don't think I can shed another tear. Thank you again....as it's been reiterated by hundreds....for sharing your life so openly with us. It will be so awesome to see the kind of Woman of God Gwyneth will become.

Awesome news :) Many prayers continue. How long do they think it will be before Tricia can get off the vent? I can't wait to hear all about her first visit to see her little miracle baby.

When Tricia comes off the vent is dependent on how she does. So there's no timetable.

I hope Nathan will video the first time Tricia and Gwyneth are together outside the womb. That will be something they will always treasure.

I hope you and baby Gwyneth have a wonderful grandpa and baby time. I am sure she will fill you in on all of the wonderful NICU news. :) You know those babies have that way with communication, even if it is only the kind you can understand.
Praying that the girls get their visit soon, and that they both continue to get better.

Do a dance proud grampa, do a dance! :) I have been following the amazing and inspirational story of your family on your son's blog, but I stop over here now and then too. I am wishing for the best, wishing for the proud parents to be home with their beautiful daughter and all this hospital business to be a memory.
