We're thinking about all of you on the coast. Praying Ike won't be a monster. Please keep in YOUR prayers the islands along the way. The people of Haiti are getting slammed with so much rain with each of these storms which doesn't bode well on an already crippled "road" system. Makes getting food, water, fuel all very difficult.
Everyone is passionate about something. Who I am and who I am becoming as a man, a husband, a father, grandfather, retired pastor, leader and Christ-follower all work together to shape my passions.
If I think I've got some wisdom or insight to share, I'll share it. If I have a question to ask, I'll ask it. If something in the news strikes me I may comment on it. I won't shy away from controversy, but neither will I tolerate what we call in the south "ugly" behavior in readers' comments.
If you enjoy it, great! Glad to have you along. If you don't, that's OK, too. Thanks for stopping by.
The Replanted Church: Leading a Dying Church Back to Life
I'm a 60 something year old husband, dad, grandpa in an incredible family and retired shepherd to a most amazing community of believers. Plus God has me living on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Life is good!

Hey Rick,
Is anybody boarding up their home in Nags Head because of Hannah?
Miles in Powhatan Va
Not that I've seen. We shouldn't get any extreme weather here.
We're keeping our eyes on Ike here in N W Florida too. Most of the models have him coming into the Gulf.
Praying that Hanna is doesn't do much damage to the OBX.
At least Josephine looks like she will be going back out to sea and not paying anyone a visit.
