Update from NICU
If you read my post below, thank you for praying. But Kayla's grandfather just came by and told me "we lost her". Please pray for this young family. And continue to pray for Tyler.
praying for Kayla's family, and for Tyler and family. I know there are others that have read this blog and are praying too, but don't know how to post. I believe in the power of prayer and thank you for continuing the chain of love we each share. I feel it is how we can hold each others hand as the body of Christ during times of trials good and bad, we lift them all up to Jesus.
God's plan is perfect and we can just be in awe. Not that you would choose to be in the NICU ... and if you are sent there "by some circumstances", you are there for and with your granddaughter ... But no: God uses you there for a number of people to testify his grace and love, to bring his care and warmth. Thanks for sharing.
Rick, I have being following Nate, Tricia, and Gwyneth's story for about 3 weeks now and have been praying. I came across a song that made me think of them. Its called "Someone Is Praying For You" by Gospel Echoes. I would love to share that song with them, but didn't know how to contact him. With all the traffic he has on his site I didn't want to leave my email address there. I just wondered if I could send them a c.d. with this song on it to the hospital in care of them. Or maybe there is another way they wish to receive mail. If they would rather not at all, thats fine too. If you would like to let me know I would appreciate it. Anna Boyd email: arb9077@juno.com
I'm not super religious, but I do believe there is some sort of higher power & from this everything happens for a reason. I cannot explain the reason why little children pass away, but I hope one day the parents can "get the answer"

So sorry to hear that. My heart goes out to that family and all in the NICU. Our daughter was born at 24 weeks on Dec. 19th 2006. Our story is very different. She is now a happy and healthy 1 year old. You and your son and family are very inspiring. You give Hope to people through pray and kindness. Our journey in the NICU is over but it will never be forgotten. It changed everything. Our marriage, family, believes. All for the better. Please check out our daughter Graces' website. It's nice to have a pastor around to help hold a family like that up in prayer. Last year when I was in the hospital having my baby, my dad (also a pastor) was able to witness to a family who lost their baby at 20 weeks. I felt so horrible because as I was sitting there with my healthy baby girl, they were right down the hall holding their lifeless baby. It was a very difficult thing for me to hear about then, and hearing about Kayla's family and the little triplet that passed away in the NICU at Duke is also hard to handle. I know it's in God's hands, but it is still so sad. I think it's also neat how God puts people in the right place at the right time. The family told my dad that they were very glad he was there to uplift them in prayer, and I'm sure this family felt the same about having you there!!
I have thoroughly enjoyed following your family's story. What a wonderful thing to "see" happen. You sure are one lucky grandpa to have such a sweet little miracle as a grandbaby :)
