A meteorological note

It snowed all morning on the Outer Banks of North Carolina.

In November.

A week before Thanksgiving.

The temps are 15 to 20 degrees below normal.

Global warming has me confused.

It's apparently all my fault. I moved to NC from Minnesota last spring and I'm being blamed.. I apparently brought it all with me.

LOL! You think you are confused. Nobel Peace Prize winners are scratching their heads in bewilderment!.... or is that embarressment?

Actually, colder temps (and "extreme"
weather events) in the winter are also a result of global warming.

Milepost13 said was I was going to say.

Global warming messes with the North Atlantic Drift which is what stops east coast US and western europe having extreme weather. Without our good old current from the equator, we get more weather like the rest of the people living on the same latitude line of the globe...

I think.

I can't remember all my geography studies too well.

I'm in Alaska...and it's 9 degrees. We are ready for global warming to arrive any time. The sooner the better.
Okay...just kidding, sort of.

I found you on Nate's blog .... and just found that blog yesterday, so I'm enjoying it all!

I was born and have always lived in NC...but I have never been to the outer banks..never! Isn't that just terrible!?

Something I hope to do some day!

And you gotta love the snow!! Period! That is something we do not see very often in the Piedmont area of NC...

Rick,

Ditto. It "flurried" in Virginia Beach from 6:30 am until 1:30 pm.

I, too, was scratching my head. Completely out of character to see snow here in Va Beach as early as mid-November.

Weird!
